RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES

Mass production of electricity from renewable energy flows requires technology that harnesses the power of natural phenomena such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat. Renewable energy sources contribute approximately 25% of human energy use worldwide. Unit Group has initiated a program for the implementation of projects from renewable energy sources. As we have production based on fossil fuels and reservoir based hydro production, our desire is to implement those environmentally friendly based productions as mentioned above.  We have begun a vigorous investment program for small to medium scale run-of-river hydro in the 5 to 40 MW range for a total ROR portfolio of 150 MW.  We have acquired the rights and have begun the initial studies for a 65 MW portfolio of Wind Energy and will begin investments in the latter part half of 2007.  As the potential and technological resources for other renewable sources increase, we will begin detailed studies to try to implement them.
